The Journalism class reports and prints the news of activities in and around Northwestern. The editor of the Smoke Signal, Jo Ellen Ransbottom, and the assistant editor, Jane NIcGillivray, were sent to a Journalism school in Athens, Ohio, last summer so the school and community could be informed by a better school newspaper. L. At the beginning of its year, the Smoke Signal was given a fine start under the temporary supervision of Mrs. Carolyn Nlaine. The adult supervision of the newspaper and the instruction of the journalism class then became the duties of Mrs. Ann Iclclings upon her arrival from Texas early in the autumn.
