National Thespian Society Formal initiation for Thespian induction was held April 29. During the ceremony, the origin, purpose, and duties ofthe organization was explained, to the initiates by Kenneth Fuller, Beverly Dill, Elaine Kitchen, Kaye Kraftt, and Janet Slagle, charter members of Troupe 1416. Literary Speech, Drama, Thespis, Music, Writing and Poetry, phases of the organization were described by the members and Mr. Stebbins, advisor, read the pledge to initiates. Refreshments were served at the informal gathering after the ceremony. 1958 Follies The i958 Follies, May 6, was a variety show in which the Swing Band, Chorus and mem- bers of the student body took part. Mike Haines as master of ceremonies was com- ically assisted by David Taylor, Ronald Grieser, Larry Eastgate, and Janet Slagle. Other acts of a comical nature were a dia- logue by Elaine Kitchen and Sandy Hess, a Fish Tale, pantomimed by Joe Domer, a monologue by Bob Kiblinger, and numbers pantomimed by the Tricky Trio, including Dave Taylor, Tom Warren, and .lack Fuller. Dance numbers were presented by Lynn Ransbottom and Sue Kay Bough. Bonita Dill, Kaye Krafft, Jeanne McFarland, Beverly Bot- kin, Ellenora Williams, Joan Carr, and Elois Berner were featured in songs. The chorus and Swing Band were combined to present the opening, Finale, and Ball Talk while the Swing Band played The Breeze and I, ln a Persian Market, and Ballin' the Jack.
