Under the direction of Mrs. Wilma Shank, the members ofthe organization collected toys, clothes, and food for these needy families. At Clmristrnas tirne, the girls took pop cornballsto the Children's Home and sang carols as entertainment. Another project ofthe club was the holding of two bake sales, which brought in over Slfi r for the treasury. lnthe way of fnn, the l'.ll.A. members in- itiated the Springfield and Woodstock High Schools new F.ll.A. Chapters. On April 29 and 250, Pat liarger, Mary Mc- Gillivray,and Mary Daxisrepresented the eliih at the State Convention in Coltimbtis. At this ti rne the girls received :in Award of Merit, whichtheChaprerhad earned tor its fine work during the past year.

With a membershipof39 boys, the Chapter sent two boys as representatives to the National Con- vention in Kansas City. The Chapter also held a party at which the F,H.A. tnetnbers were guests, a scrap drive, and their animal Parent and Son Banquet. Standing - Patty Dick, Ann Shaffer, Beverly Dill, Jacky Hawk, Linda Wolf, Shirley Brown, Linda Slagle, and Evelyn Bodenbender. The Sweetheart Dance proved to be the biggest event that the G.A.A. sponsored this past year. The club decorated the gym for the dance and made the arrangements for the crowning of the Sweetheart Queen and King. Such activities as sockhops after most ofthe home basketball games were held to make money. Some of this money was used to hold a play day in which two other county schools participated. The other money will be used towards purchasing new jackets lk forthe girls' basketball teams next year. The club set up schedules for intramural teams at noon in soccer, volleyball, and basketball. Awards were presented to the winners of each sport. The club also adopted a new constitution during the latter part of the year. Under this constitution each girl mustparticipate in at least half the playing time of two intramural or scholastic sports to remain a member ofthe G.A.A. 42 X lk e
