Wildoafs Finish Besf Season Top left: Roger Estes is determined to drive in more Wildcat points. The Wildcat varsity soccer team, under Coach Raymond Mayrovitz, showed a marked improvement over last season's 2-13-1 record, compiling a 3-5-5 slate for 1973. It was the sec- ond best varsity record ever in a sea- son marred by injuries to key players. The offense was powered by Allen Brodnick with four goals and Joel Oppenheimer with three. Leading the defensive squad was all-MSA goalee David Pugh and halfback Dean Krimmel. Win- ning only two of its scheduled games, the J .V. often played well enough to win but bad breaks and mental errors kept the 'Cats from victory. Coach Ward's forces were also hampered by injuries to key players as the gridders struggled to find a winning combina- tion. Wildcat releases tension with big block. S. Driner portrays Wildcat spirit as he dribbles. NorthWestern's Junior Varsity Soccer Team completed the 1973 sea- son with its best record in the school's eight year history. Under the instruc- tions of Coach John Bauman, the Wildcats finished just under .500 with a 6-7-1 record, an improvement over last seasons 3-5-3 slate.
