. Tearful Farewell l On May 31, 1974 seniors marched into the auditorium beneath wreaths of flowers to greet advisors, fellow students, and guests, and to bid fare- well to Northwestern. Brenda Petti- grew functioned as mistress of cere- monies, and the senior Chorus pro- vided the entertainment. Guest speaker Hildagardeis Boswell offered words to the wise as Michael Johnson reassured doubting parents. Faculty and administrators assisted in the presentation of awards, and class advisors through tears of sadness spoke to the class for the last time. When the program ended many stu- dents left with mixed emotions and their pink and blue flowers as remembrances. 198 xii fi x.. by ppp .I . , ' l L .
