Qfiokers Would Rafher Forgef The year, 1974, is one that Northwest- ern's J.V. Lacrosse players and coach would like to forget. Compiling a dismal 2-9 record, the Wildcats could not seem to win, for losing. Time after time the 'Cats blew leads and eventually lost, worst perhaps, was the margin of score in those losses. Five of the nine losses were by less than two points. Despite the poor showing, the team had its bright spots in the performances of Lester Brown and Michael Gunther. 'Cai Nine Finish Second Finishing second seemed to be the rule for NorthWestern's spring sports and the varsity baseball team was no exception. The Wildcats were run- ners-up to N orthern's nine. The 8-8 record and the second place finish were largely due to the efforts of the Johnson and Johnson duo. Van Johnson the power-hitting outfielder- pitcher and the strong armed Kevin Johnson, who was the ace of the pitching staff, provided the punch the 'Cats needed to overpower their oppo- nents.
