We Believe In Music
The alto section makes a joyous sound.
Because our choir performs in such fine style, our vocal music
students are constantly in great demand to perform for singing
engagements throughout the Flint area during the school year.
Some class activities include sight-singing, note-reading, learning
the letter names of notes, rhythm study, theory and developing a
repertoire of songs suitable for a variety of occasions. Mr. Semmes,
Fine Arts Chairman, was quite pleased with the addition of a guitar
class to the music curriculum. Students were able to participate in
group andfor individual study to learn to read music and develop
skills at playing the guitar.
Our choir has always tried to strive for bigger and better
things. We have always tried to demonstrate our excellence, pride
and wildcat spirit to many audiences. Should any Northwestern
student wish to join the choir, please contact Mr. Semmes or any
choir member in room 504 for an audition.

Art is one of the many media through which a
student may express his ideas. It encourages creativity
and awareness. Art students work with materials such
as clay, wood, temeral paints, water colors and
papier-mache. A variety of materials provides a
stimulus to help students gain an interest in art.
Through the combination of the students' ideas, the
rough materials and expert instructor guidance, the
department has produced many fine young artists. The
accumulated genius of the art students is on display in
the art room throughout the school year. Mr. Willie
Donahue, art teacher, tried to educate each student in
every phase of art such as history, drawing, painting.
sculpture, print masking and ceramics.
