Dean of Faculty CHARLES E. KOERBLE BOARD OF REGENTS from: W. M. C. Dawson, J. W. Jones. Harold M. Hull. Back: Luther Belcher. Garvin Williams, A. B. Vogt. H. F. DEAN ' S MESSAGE No one can put the same foot in the same stream twice. This rough paraphrase of a Chinese proverb brings forcefully to mind the inevitability of change. The stream and the foot are not twice the same. Remember how different the high school crowd seemed to get after you arrived on this campus? Every generation has a right to point to significant changes which took place, some genera- tions more so than others. It would seem that your generation is fraught with peculiar and serious changes which are possibly more significant than ever before: the atomic bomb, a seemingly endless cold war. economic ' insurances, ' jet transportation, space travel, electronic advances, automation, to mention a few. How well prepared are you for the changes that have occurred and will ensue? Adjust- ing to change is a continuous process: The only adjusted person is dead. As college trained indi- viduals I wish for you the intelligent behavior which best utilizes the results of change and which accepts its inevitability. College Treasurer LUTHER BELCHER Registrar ROBERT FOSTER Director of Field Service EVERETT W. BROWN 12
