W. SToTTs lauThor oT Basic Chrisffanify and several commenTaries, who explored The apolo- geTics oT The mission Tield. The purpose oT Urbana is To sTimulaTe inTeresT in and commiTTmenT To The mission Tield. IT is primarily geared Toward college sTudenTs. buT people oT all ages aTTend. One oT iTs goals is To esTablish missions as a Tocal poinT oT The church. AlThough nearly 18,000 people aTTended The convenTion, opporTuniTies Tor close Tellowship were provided. ln addi- Tion To The large group meeTings in The sTadium, The people were divided inTo smaller Bible STudy groups, seminars. and group sessions. While The RA is a member of The sTaTT and is responsible and accounTable To The dean oT sTudenTs. hisfher duTies go beyond The deTined areas oT accounTabiliTy. OTTen, an RA is challenged, sTreTched, misundersTood, and used: and Their Time is noT Their own. IT is a demanding, buT rewarding minisTry. Being an RA aTTecTs all areas oT one's liTe. As persons, They musT sTrive To mainTain a good devoTional and prayer liTe augmenTed wiTh regular Bible sTudy, parTicipaTe in hall acTiviTies and programs, and be acTively involved in a local church. As sTaTT members, They musT aTTend weekly sTaTT meeTinqs wiTh The dean oT sTudenTs. submiT yearly personal goals and obiecTives, be a spiriTual leader in The hall wiTh servanThood a goal in all relaTionships, and be sensiTive To The physi- cal psychological, spiriTual, and emoTional needs oT every individual in The hall.
