BARTON A. DOWDY-- President: Degrees: B.S.L. , Cincinnati Bible Seminary, 19383 B.D. , Butler University School of Religion 4Christian Theological Serninaryl , 1950, Ph.D. , Vanderbilt University, 1955, D. D. , Phillips University, 1967. Dean, Christian College of Georgia, 1956-65. President, Northwest Christian College, 1965. As I look back over the academic year, 1972-73, I see it as a year of great success in the work of Northwest Christian College. The success of the College depends upon a solid Board of Trustees, an Administration pressing toward the goal which the school has set for itself, a dedicated, well-prepared faculty desirous of furthering the achievement of those goals, a program that will accomplish the purpose, sufficient financial resources to underwrite continued operation, and a student body to make the effort meaningful. All of these are present at NCC. Probably the most striking factor in 1972-73 is the student body itself. During each of the three terms the enroll- ment has been the highest in the history of the school. The overall head count of students enrolled during the year f565J is the highest ever. But numbers alone do not tell the story. ln the last year or two, colleges have noted a distinct change in the type of student that was enrolling. The present generation of college students is more serious, more dedicated to education, and more religious than past generations have been. This change has been noted on most campuses, both public and private. Such a trend augurs well for the future of our country and for the increase of the Kingdom of God. I am equally sure that America is on the verge of one of its greatest religious revivals. Northwest Christian College can forge to the front in this upswing of Christianity by educating leadership for it. The question is not so much whether the rebirth will take place as it is the directions in which it will go. Our efforts at NCC are aimed toward leadership so that this movement back toward Christ and the church can be channeled in the direction of God's word and a solid, Biblically based Christian faith. 55wf!7
