With the end of the 1978 football season, Coach Walter Stosey retired as head football coach. Coach Stosey, who has held this post for the past 17 years, leaves with an overall record of 73-62-2. Under his direction, North- west tied twice for the HCC Championship, while winning 2 merit awards from the CIAC in 1974 and 1978. From these victories. Coach Stosey was named Coach of the Year in 1974 by the Hartford Chapter National Football Foundation.
