' During the first weeks of school, trash cans - i. L41 1 off during seemed to be the foes of freshmen caught tres- passing on the Senior Quad. A larger campus is always exciting to most students, although frightening. After conquering some of the fears of high school, many of the underclass- men become outgoing and make friends with other freshmen and even upperclassmen. Some freshmen are active in student pol- itics by attending class council meetings and planning the class of 1981's future. Class officers and the class council made the ,77-'78 freshman year a successful one by raising money for future use by the class of '81. The scramble system of scheduling is dif- ferent from the scheduling system of junior highs in the area. There is also a Wider variety of classes from which to choose. On- the day of scheduling, book lockers are also distri- buted. These things are new to most fresh- men. Not all freshmen are used to being around people three or four years older than them- selves. However, most are able to make the adjustment quickly.
