Viking l7oir armorpizes Leslie Hale listens as Mr. Lindsay sings the song as it should be sung. Members of the Viking Choir were required to audition individually to prove their talent to Mr. Roy Lindsey, the group's advisor. Near- ly five days a week, these members dedicated both class and after school time to rehearsal. The Viking Choir participated in many per- formances, including a spring choral concert, Northview's Baccalaureate, and various con- certs including a five day tour to San Francis- co. At the end of the year, a choral awards ban- quet was held to recognize outstanding per- formers from all Northview choirs. 44 Viking Choir rehearses for Christmas performance.

Offered as a class, Mixed Chorus was open to all students al- though it was comprised mainly of Fresh- men and Sophomores. No auditions were necessary to join Mixed Chorus, but if a student wished to advance to the Concert Choir or Viking Choir, auditions were mandatory. Mixed Chorus performed at all choral presentations including the District Festi- val at Citrus College, rehearsing only dur- ing class time. At the end of the year, a certificate of achievement was presented to those suc- cessful chorus students who had main- tained at least a 2.0 grade point average and had a decent attendance record.
