Prospective members were required to sing musical scales, sight read, and prove ability to display fine tone qualities. Throughout the entire year, members met after school on Wednesdays at 3 p.m., prac- ticing until 5 p.m. During the Christmas holidays, Madrigals ven- tured along with Pop Ensemble to local elemen- tary and junior high schools to vocalize under the guidance of Mr. Roy Lindsey. Well-known Christmas tunes such as Jingle Bells, and the mellow sounding Christmas Song, were but a few of the songs performed. Another entertaining program was scheduled at the Methodist Church. The highlight of the year's engagements was Madrigalls journey to San Francisco. After per- forming in San Luis Obispo, Fresno, Santa Clara and Oakland, Madrigals were left free to relax and sightsee in San Francisco. Hours of practice and fund-raising activities were put forth to make the trip a truly memorable event.
