The J.V. team worked on returning the ball more than on the advanced skills such as setting, spiking, and digging. This Viking team was comprised mostly of girls who never played on a volleyball team before, and who gained enough experience to he an asset to the varsity team in their remaining years at Northview. Mrs. Linda Penter coached this hard working group of athletes and stressed con- sistancy during practice and games. The girls, dedicated and spirited, played hard and never gave up. Even if the score was against them they kept fighting and play- ing to the best of their ability. Though the team concentrated on basic skills and team work, later in the season they learned plays for blocking and spik- 2?
