The Varsity Tennis team showed great skill and accuracy working under the direction of Coach Ron Rice. The season was opened with tryouts by both boys and girls. The girls who tried out and made the team were disquali- fied by C.l.F. because they had already played tennis in G.A.A. Top players M. Hendrickson and R.Azelton, along with returning lettermen 1. Manning, A, Jarvis, B. Popilsky, and j. Sandt all led to the development of a strong, self-confident team. The team has im- proved greatly since last year and be- cause of their added experience will be even stronger next year. Consisting of many skilled and cap- able players, the l.V. tennis team gained helpful experience this season. Each individual faced his own prob- lems and overcame them through many hours of practice. Two such play- ers were M. Evinger and 1. Nunez. Coach jim Pashone offered the team his undivided attention, experience and knowledge. Progress, experience, and self-confidence bring hopes of re- turning next year as varsity players.
