The highlight of the evening was the crowning of Venus de Northfield. Diana Hegel was chosen from the four candidates by her classmates. As a result of the fine response to the election of Venus, the Latin Club invited the students of Northfield to the movie " Quo Vadis. Council Works CHRISTMAS For Improvement Of North field American Field Service I want to express my appreciation to the American Field Service Program, to Northfield High School, and to everyone who helped make my trip to Brazil possible. During my summer in Tupa, Brazil, I encountered many exciting adventures and I grew to love the Brasilian people very much. I hope that in the future many Northfield students will be able to participate in the A.F.S. Summer Students Abroad Program. " Btti.yjuilXI MfSSi " Dear Friends, I will never forget the past ten months I have spent with you. I will carry home with me the memories of the warm welcome you gave me, the fun we had together in Pep Club at ballgames, soc hops, snowball fights, field trips, play practice, formal dances, and most of all the sur- prise farewell party! I want to thank the faculty and student body for the many kindnesses shown to me. Immediately, you made me feel I was one of you. I ' ll take back with me to the Philippines the good impression of the United States that this school and community have given me. " Salamat, paalam. at patnu- bayan Kayo ng Dios! New Hampshire — just across the Massachusetts line. The people in our town are ordinary people — just like you and me. They lead normal lives, work on daily jobs and face the same disappointments. But life may not always be a dull, mediocre passage of time. For instance, how many people usually view their owti funerals or relive a day of their life?
