JUNIORS reached that long-awaited day when their class rings finally ar- rived. Proud juniors could be seen everywhere comparing and admiring each others’ rings and showing them off to envious underclassmen. THE few Seniors who were interested, both boys and girls, took the Betty Crocker Search for the Homemaker of Tomorrow test. THE wrestling and basketball teams both started their seasons with a win. The cagers beat Salisbury in a close game 52-50, and the grapplers romped over Allegany 42-24. 3) Ge a ee Ed Frazee attempted a field goal as the Huskies battled Salisbury in the first game of the season. 4 Doug Stanton, among other seniors, received his ACT scores from Mr. Mike O'Brien took a pressured shot Malone. in the Salisbury J.V. game. 25

DECEMBER Julie placed her order for announcements with Mr. Becky and DeAnn were handed their class rings. Posey. December was packed with activities. Early in the month Adv. Biology students from both Northern and Southern spent a week at Camp Hickory. They learned how to identify many winter twigs. 24

The Cheerleaders, in an effort to revive school spirit, sponsored Spirit Night , a competition among home- rooms for highest turnout percentage at the first bas- ketball game. It proved a success, as many students came, adding supporting screams and shouts to help the Huskies whip Salisbury 50-52. ie — | The Huskie Grapplers confidently awaited the outcome of the Northern-Allegany match. 26
