I3rincipaI's Message Dear Students: As this school year, 1956-57, comes to a close, you should reserve time to take stock of what you have accomplished during the past ten months. Now is the time to look back. Are you satisfied with your accomplishments? Remember, your actions of yesterday and today will determine, to a great extent, what you will do in the future. Northern High School was constructed for the purpose of preparing the youth of Northern Garrett County to better prepare themselves for the future and to make them better citizens. Your parents, your teachers, your neighbors, and your countyand state officials have labored hard to make this school possible. You should be proud of Northern High School. You should take advantage of every opportunity available here which will help you to become a better, more informed citizen of tomorrow. Someone has said that the world marches forward on the feet of youth. Yes, and the world may stand still, or it may even move backward into darker ages. It all depends on how much you--tomorrow's citizen, tomorrow's leaders in every walk of life, tomorrow's ambassadors to the ends of the earth--understand today's problems and so prepare yourselves to meet tomorrow. To our 1957 graduates, I would like to extend my personal congratulations and best wishes for success in the future. To our students who will return next fall, 1 would like to extend best wishes for a most pleasant summer vacation. We'll be looking forward to seeing you in September. Sincerely, Principal
