BROOKS President Vice President Secretary Treasurer Sponsor lpha Phi Ome a Alpha Phi Omega is a service fraternity, and the true measure of a successful chapter is the service rendered to its campus and community and nation. This fraternity has a definite program of activities in which the pledges and members direct their energies for the benefit of their fellow man. The purpose of Alpha Phi Omega, as being carried out by the chapters, is to assemble college men in the fellow- ship of the Scout Oath and Law, to develop friendship and to promote service to humanity. This program em- bodies four fields of activity. They are: Service to the student body and faculty, Service to youth and community, Service to members of the fraternity, Service to the nation as participating citizens. Being a service fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega crosses all lines of honorary, social and professional fraternities, and thus, members of other campus organizations may also be active in this fraternity. Through cooperation with other organizations the program of Alpha Phi Omega may be made most effective. A short daily devo- tional period can do much to strengthen one's life spirit- ually. The most important accomplishment this year was the securing of a Student Center between Haskell Hall and Leosier Center. East Central- East Central's Homecoming provided the setting for North- eastern's only l96O whitewashing as the Tigers laced the Redmen 34-O. A 56-yard punt return in the first quarter supplied what proved to be an adequate cushion, and the Tigers from Ada poured on the coal the rest of the way. Southwestern- A 2i-point fourth quarter spree by the Southwestern Bull- dogs dashed NSC's hopes for a victorious Homecoming game. Northeastern went into the fourth quarter with what looked to be an insurmountable 26-6 lead, but the Bulldogs climbed the 20-point mountain to deal the Redmen their fifth straight setback. Quarterback Jake Greenwood sneaked for two touch- downs, Robert Jackson plunged for another, and linebacker- center Dan Sulivant rumbled l6 yards with a stolen fumble but all to no avail. The long gainer again proved to be the Reclmen's nemesis as three of Southwestern's scoring thrusts came on plays covering Al, 46 and 68 yards. The clinching touchdown was an 8-yard pass play and the successful extra-point try made it 27-26, Southwestern.
