VERY REVEREND DOMINIC BALDUCELLI, O.S.F.S. FATHER BALDUCELLI, the Superior General of the Oblates of St. Francis de Sales, makes his residence in Rome where he supervises the activities of the Oblates throughout the world. Since he visited our school three years ago, he has held a high place in our esteem. His wisdom and holiness. impressed us very much, and we look forward to his return. VERY REVEREND WILLIAM WARD, 0.S.F.S. AN ALUMNUS OF NORTH CATHOLIC, Father Ward has returned to his Alma Mater to assume the position of Religious Superior of the Oblate Faculty. Formerly Father Ward had been assistant principal of North Catholic until 1951 when he was appointed principal of St. Francis De Sales High School in Toledo, Ohio. We welcome your return to North Catholic and thank you for all you have given us this year both in and out of the classroom. THEIR LIVES DEVOTED TO ACQLIIRI AN COIVIMUNICATI G TRUTH

RECENTLY CHOSEN AS SUPERIOR of all Oblates in America, Father Conmy has already contributed much to North Catholic. Father, who was cl member of North Catholic's first graduating class, has always been an active alumnus. After entering the Oblates Fr. Conmy studied both in Europe and in Washington, D. C., however, when Father's name is mentioned there is only one place of which an Oblate thinks-Maryland. Yes, the Oblate Novitiate at Childs and Fr. Conmy have been synonymous over the years. His role there has been one of the most important in the Oblates, affecting not only the priests and seminarians themselves but thousands of their students as well. Often we have heard of the Salesian spirit, the Salesian ideal. It is difficult if not impossible to put into words. Yet that was Fr. Conmy's iob for many years. How well he succeeded by word and example is easily seen in the Oblates' great growth here in this country. Fr. Conmy gave the Salesian spirit to the Oblates, he started the pro- gram that affects every boy in an Oblate school, every parishioner hear- ing an Oblate sermon, every person who meets an Oblate. To continue this work even more effectively, Father was made Provincial of the American Province. For this we offer our congratulations and our prayers-that his influence will spread even further-bringing men to God in the Salesian Way. OBLATE UPERIORS

VERY REV. JOHN F. TOCIK, O.S.F.S. LAST SUMMER prior to the opening of school, Fr. Tocik, our rector for eleven years, was promoted to the newly created post of supervisor of all Oblate education. All of us, Father, who have come to know you as our friend and learn from you as our rector and teacher thank you for these years. We shall long remember and try to imitate the example of strength, simplicity, and charity you have left with us. May God bless you in your new work. THE F LINDATIQ REVEREND EDWARD CONLIN, 0.S.F.S. AN OBLATE PRIEST for thirty years, Father Edward Conlin, our rector, is a native of Phila- delphia. He is no stranger to us, having served as assistant principal here from 1949 until 1958 when he was transferred to Niagara Falls, New York. During these nine years Fr. Conlin established a reputation among all his students as a most enthusiastic and energetic priest-one who will help any boy at any time. This year has shown that Fr. Conlin has not changed in this regard and we welcome his return. Thank you for your many ettorts to shape us into Salesian gentlemen, Father. May God bless you. 1
