Since his installation in 1952, Our Most Reverend Archbishop has worked unceasingly in his program for the expansion of Archdiocesan educational facili- ties. He has established new parishes and expanded the capacity of the parochial and high school system of Philadel- phia. In so doing he has shown enthusiasm for a cause charac- teristic of his own earlier career and those of his predecessors. North expresses its gratitude for the interest and solicitude of this noted scholar, able ad- ministrator and parish priest. our beloved Ponlii The Archbishop is ably assisted in his duties by Their Excellencies, the Most Reverend J. Carroll McCormick, D.D., and the Most Reverend Joseph McShea, D.D., Auxiliary Bishops of Philadelphia. Bishop McCormick has been engaged in Archdiocesan administrative details for several years and Catholic education has ever been foremost among his concerns. Bishop McShea views the problem of education from experiences as pastor, teacher, and administrator, and has shown great energy and effort in meeting these problems. It is the sincere prayer of both the faculty and the students here at North that God may bless all their years of service and reward them for their good works.
