O'Hara, Archbishop of Philadelphia, has distinguished himself as an administrator and has served ably as a wartime delegate. The former president of Notre Dame was born in 1888, ordained in 1916, and consecrated in 1940 by Archbishop, now Cardinal, Spellman. He was made Bishop of Buffalo where he was further honored as a teacher and was noted for his stand against racial discrimination, adopting a policy of abolishing separate schools for Negroes. In January, 1952, Archbishop Cicognani, Apostolic Delegate to the United States, installed him at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter and Paul. We are glad to be among his Philadelphia children, Four thousand strong. . . . We pledge our fidelity.

Regfbnal Directors and BISHOP J. CARROLL McCORMlCK Bishop McCormick is a good neighbor to Encee. He is the auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia and also the pastor of Saint Stephen's Church. We pray that he will stay with us for many years to come. BISHOP McSHEA ln February 1952, Archbishop Cicognani announced that Monsignor McShea was to be made Auxiliary Bishop of Philadelphia. Bishop McShea, who graduated from West Catholic and attended St. Charles Seminary, was ordained by Cardinal Selvoggiani in 1931, and, since he is a local pride, we sincerely wish him many years of happiness in his work with us.

Dlbcesan Superfhfendenfs MONSIGNOR EDWARD REILLY Recently elevated to the Monsignorate, Msgr. Edward Reilly is the Superintendent of Diocesan Schools. His superior ability is manifested by the skillful method in which he performs his tremendous task. For supervising the daily activities of over 40,000 diocesan students is indeed an enormous iob. We, at North, were especially privileged to have Msgr. Reilly help us cheer our football team on to the city cham- pionship. Along with Father Haydt, Father Gra- ham is Assistant Superintendent of our schools.
