Jenney Northeast Bradford Junior-Senior High School Rome, Pennsylvania i THROUGH THESE HALLS OF LEARNING Alma Mater " Tune of Finlandia” Hail, dear Northeast, our noble Alma Mater, Midst stately hills you stand so bold and true. Maroon and grey will shine forever glorious; Within our hearts live memories of you. Throughout the years you’ll be our inspiration, The guiding light in each day of life. Dear Northeast High, your loyal sons and daughters Now pledge to keep thy royal banner high; In hallow’d halls thy students will go forward, To greater heights, and God will be nigh; May friendships last, our hopes and dreams accomplished, With peace for all, and no fear of strife. 3 I All of these reflections should serve as a reminder to you, that even a thing as simple as a tree can be " lovely”. You have only to observe more closely to appreciate more fully the trees of our area. 1 hQJ t maMchvtihn- Editor 4 m i! 0 J H f SENIORS. FACULTY. CLASSES. ORGANIZATIONS . FINE ARTS ... ATHLETICS. ADVERTISEMENTS Board of Education To the Class of 1966 Congratulations on your graduation! We, on the Board of School Directors, along with the Administration and the Faculty have striven to provide you with the opportunity for a comprehensive education. We have provided the opportunity. If you have taken advantage of it, you are ready to forge ahead in the world. Because your education at Northeast was comprehensive it was of a necessity basic, and I fear, in some subjects, barely rudimentary. However, if you have mastered two fundamental skills; the ability to read and the ability to think and reason, the universe, with all its rewards, is open to you. You are limited only by your ambition and your initiative. With your ability to read, all the knowledge accumulated since the dawn of history is before you to be absorbed. With your ability to reason the unknown in your workshop and the challenge to investigate the mysteries yet to be solved and the discoveries yet to be exposed await only your assiduous industry. I am proud to have been a part of your formative years and I know I shall be prouder still, as each of you make your imprint on the pages of history. Good luck to you all. Very sincerely yours, Walter A. Kolaga, President ROW 1: Mr. Arthur Painter, Treas.; Mr. Harold Russell, Chaplain; Mrs. Eva Chaffee, Sec.; Mr. Walter Kolaga, Pres.; Mr. Floyd Robinson, First Vice Pres.; Mr. Leonard Abell, Second Vice Pres. JACOB HENNIP B.S., Mansfield State College M.Ed., Pennsylvania State University To the Class of 1966: " And when the stream Which overflowed the soil was passed away, A consciousness remained that it had left, Deposited upon the silent shore Of memory, images and precious thoughts That shall not die, and cannot be destroyed.” As you leave the halls of your Alma Mater, we hope you take with you many pleasant memories which will become more precious to you as the years go by; just as you leave with us many precious memories of you which will become a part of the proud heritage passed along to each succeeding class. May you have happiness and success in the years to come. Supervising Principal High School Principal MR. JOSEPH B. DeANGELIS B.S., M.Ed., Pennsylvania State University To the Graduating Class of 1966: " In all things, do your best. The man who has done his best has done everything. The man who has done less than his best has done noth¬ ing.”—Charles M. Schwab What you have attained thus far is, in part, a result of your thinking. In the years to come, any¬ thing you gain or lose will also be a result of your thinking. I hope that the guidance and skills we have tried to give you during your years at Northeast Bradford will help, in a large part, to direct this thinking toward doing your best. Remember—a person may fail many times, but he is not a failure until he places the blame on someone else. Your successes will be relative to your best efforts. 8 Guidance Counselor w m »fi mm jji hip MR. HOBART HUTCHINS B.S., East Stroudsburg State College M.S., University of Scranton To the Class of 1966: As graduation nears, may I offer my sincere congratulations for a job well begun. I say " begun” because, like the trees used for this year’s theme, your roots are still young and pliable and your branches have yet to reach out into the world. As a tree reaches toward the sun, may you grow straight in stature, strong in spirit, and steadfast in service, nourished by the foundation you received at Northeast High. As you mature, someone may well say " how worthwhile” instead of " what a waste”. Sincerely, 9 MRS.
