Miss Yellow Jacket 5 DEDICATION The 1981 Torch staff dedicates this year’s book to Mr. Joe Dent and Mrs. Vivian Dent, two excellent teachers here at Northampton High School. Both of these people have given of them¬ selves in many ways over the years and the stu¬ dents would be lacking some important aspects of their high school experiences if not for them. Mrs. Dent teaches Government and Econom¬ ics and does a terrific job as the Girls Track Team coach. Mr. Dent teaches Building Trades and is a coach for Boys Baseball and a Girls Softball Referee. Both Mr. and Mrs. Dent spend a lot of time with students and it only seemed fitting to dedicate this book to two very dedi¬ cated individuals. 6 Bill Prince prepares the grill for the Senior Day Picnic. Steve Ingram, Bonnie Bailey, and Kelvin Burton share a moment in the afternoon. 1 SOUTH PACIFIC! The second annual production by the theater department here at Northampton High School was a total success! On Friday, May 1, 1981 the Senior class of NHS went on the annual trip to our nation’s capital. There are many things which should remain in the memories of these people, such as long walks in the spring rain, sharing the Smithsonian with many others, an interesting bus ride home, and for some, the added attraction of a trip to Salisbury, Md. All in all, the day was an experience! The seniors did meet with Representative Paul Trible who talked briefly with us and had his picture taken with us. Many seniors visited the Supreme Court Building, various museums of the Smithsonian, and the Congress.
