Eileen McKenna was the Senior girls offensive star as she rushed for over a hundred yards and scored both touchdowns on runs of fifty-one and thirty-four yards. The Seniors' defense was led by linebackers Patty Bellotti, Sheila Beck and Patty Miceli. Between the three they helped on almost every tackle. The Seniors' secondary played well due to the fine work of safeties Chris Collins and Linda Kelleher and cornerbacks Mary Schiarizzi, Bella Santostefano and Maria Carbone. The offensive line was blowing holes into the Juniors' defense, mainly due to the play of Tishy Negus at center, Marianne Buckley at guard and Janet Kineavy at tackle. The ends were Patty Jonatis and Patty Bellotti. Karen Lydon was the starting quarterback but Moe Worley saw some action. Nancie Pasquariello played 'the whole game at fullback and Eileen McKenna, Laurie Adams, and Caro- lyn O'Toole alternated at halfback. The Juniors put up a very good game but were outcoached by the Seniors. Lauren Apollo accounted for about three-fourlhs of the Jun- iors' tackles but was helped out by Toni LeBlanc and Jackie Thayer. Loretta Garrigan scored the lone Junior touchdown when she raced 75 yards on the opening kickoff of the second half. Chris Petrillo and Dave Cava- naugh coached the Seniors while 1 ! . 128 Joe Phelan and "Moose" Mallory handled the chores for the Juniors. Li 1 Elf J AW! During the second year things began to pick up. Enough girls joined to develop both a varsity and a junior var- sity squad. Mr. Piccinni then took over junior varsity and Mr. Tilley coached var- sity. The team record improved and they had three victories. This year, headed by Captains Chris- tine Tedeschi, Paula Keaney and Eileen Mackey, the team had a 5-9-2 record. Every one of those victories was a shut out. North beat Quincy and Cambridge twice and Waltham once. North played a great game against Weymouth South that ended in a scoreless tie, which knocked Weymouth out of the tournament. The team as a whole was very successful, and many players did well individually. Lori Ryan, Lisa Cavanaugh, and Lauren Apollo were all Honorable Mentions in the Subur- ban League All Star Team. Christine Tedes- chi made the Suburban League All Star Team. Christine Tedeschi was North's lead- ing scorer with eight goals. North's roster included seniors Paula Keaney, Eileen Mackey, Christine Tedeschi, Lori Ryan, Jean Zdankowski, Ann O'Hare, Susan Cahill, Cheryl Ayles, Elaine Robert- son, Patricia Negus, Denise Chase, Denise Galewskig juniors Margie Ladas, Kim Alberti, Lauren Apollo, Jackie Thayer, Susan Cahill, Robyn O'Donnell, Mary Costa, Denise Woodman, Lisa Cavanaugh, Becky Hol- comb, Susan Clando, Christine Keenan, Regina Buckleyg sophomores Maureen Berry, Karen Smith, Jean Petit, Lisa Welby, Sibhan Corrigan, Elva Reed. North is looking forward to a good season next year. Many new players are expected to come up with the junior highs to make up for the loss of the seniors.
