Music groups swing in time. The Pep Band, Stage Band, and Swing Choir participated in many extracurricular events. The Pep Band, directed by Mr. Wilson, kept very busy being super boosters of North Putnam's Cougar basketball team. They also fired up spirit at student pep sessions. The Stage Band, led by Mr. Gjesvold, played for student dances. It also participated in the state stage band contest at Ben Davis High School. North Put- nam's Stage Band won first place. The Swing Choir, sponsored by Mrs. Zenor, sang for clubs and their activities, school affairs, and other organizations. Practices were held after school. These three activities took up much time and effort on the part of teachers and students involved. Much practice went into perfecting the sound of each group. Undoubtedly the students who took part learned a great deal about music and its niche in modern culture. The members of the Swing Choir were QSEATEDQ Jana Porter, sponsor Malinda Zenor, Bev McFar land, Joyce Hill, Roy Zenor, Greg Evans, Dennis Robbins. fSTANDINGj Mike Reed, May Phillips, Dave Berry, Greg Richard, Steve Goff, Scot Evens, Cindy South, Carol Hostetter, jeretta Baker, Toni Johnson, and Cindy Goff.
