Assemblies Contract Guarantees Free Rides at Fair S.A.D.D. tStudents Against Drunk Drivingl program oranized an assembly to show students the affects of driving while intoxicated. Arrlong the guest speakers were Dennis Olp, Phill Allen, and a nurse from the emergency room at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dennis Olp, one of the firt to speak to students how they should realize how dangerous drinking is. He told everyone about how he had been out drinking and decided to ride his motorcycle when he ran in- to a parked car. In the end he was paralyzed irom the waist down but still managed to have a successful marriage and he even had a child. The nurse from Good Samaritan told about all of the horrible results of drinking and driving accidents that come through the emergency room. To finish oft the assembly, Phil Allen announced that the fair would be opening one night earlier for the high school s1:udents with free admission and free rides that they could enjoy if they had provided a signed contract from their parents. I ,-5 Assembly for Recognition From the second football assembly where it was announc ed that Cory Adams Darren Aune and Rhon McKinney made All State First Football Team to the assembly announcing Darren Tosie and Ioe Harlan as All State Cross Country runners spirit was always present There was always a lot yelling Pep assemblies were formed so that all team players could receive recognition for their efforts Each player on the team was announced with his or her position and got a cheer Pep assembhes were Just as important for team morale as they were for fan support There were also class competitions at most pep assembhes They usually consisted of each class getting up and responding to the How do you feel?
