P- t ,.. J I' HONOR COMMITTEE. Front row: Dezember, Robertson, Steiner, Lewis. Spore- lecxder. Turner. Second row: Dill, Waselewsl-ri, Moran, Grammar, Best, Norton, Bennet. ln the Old West, a man's gun and his ability to draw it quickly were the judge and jury, but here at North High we have self-governing justice through the Honor Court. The Honor Court is made up of a group of reliable students elected the previous year for these duties. They strive to uphold the standard of our school by dealing with the students who are accused of breaking laws of school conduct. This group is composed of six judges, of which three are seniors, two are juniors, and one a sophomore, with a bailiff and secre- tary who receive the offices by appointment. The Honor Committee is a committee made up of members of the executive committee and the honor court to try to find the causes and remedies of student body problems. Their work is invaluable to the school, because through their relations with students and teachers, they are able to analyze the problems. HONOR COURT: left to right: Holderby, Mc- Carty. rd ea ALWAYS LOOKING FORWARD are the studentbody leaders for this year. Vin Ciruzzi Mary Louise Turner, cmd Harold Dill. These three had the hopful and determined out-look it took to make them the grand examples of Western leadership they proved to be. Among the list of accomplishments ot the student body of North High this year, was the continued building of the Mustang Corral, which took in the collecting ot 33,000 at the end of the drive. Also drives for the War effort were popular, until the War ended, then there was a plea for the students to take part in the all important peace-time construction. This was done through old clothing drives, packing of Red Cross boxes, and the collection of suitable literature for less fortunate countries. It all adds up to the tact that, under the leadership of these officers, the student body, as a whole, has added one more page in the progress of a very modern school. Now they are looking forward to helping build a modern world. ' -. v A if E55 f :fr u I-I 8 - ' . ,uw Q .rfrvf ' - A D' 1 4 -,-, :J :W H 5:53. t. .1 -'Q' r . ..v '. P.. 0191.1 .-nf. Generosity is supposed to be characteristic of Westerners and the Service Chairmen help to prove its truth by giving time and Work prodding their homerooms into doing Worth- while projects. One student out of each homeroom is chosen to serve as a service chairman to select a project for the class to Work on during the semester and to see that it is carried out. Many homerooms have made Writing port-folios, craft Wagons, ash stands, folding bed trays and other things. The National lunior Red Cross has asked North Phoenix High School to supply certain necessary articles for the needy. The home rooms have done an excellent job in this. Good fellowship is the aim of the Boys' Alliance, and its activities point toward making the school more friendly, a place Where the old six-shooter may be thrown on the table per- manently.
