Many representatives from the business world enter this office first, and thus this office serves as an ex- ample of North High's grand business efficiency. Mr. Henry Lowe can often be seen in and out of the book store and business office, performing his many duties as business manager of North High. These activities include everything from taking fees to selling student's books. Mrs. Mildred Hill has a very important job as Mr. E1liott's personal secretary. Letters are typed, files are kept, questions answered, and visitors wel- comed by Mrs. Hill. Mrs. Flora Darland has various assorted jobs. One of her rnain jobs is assisting the student assist- ant secretaries at the switch board or stencilling the daily bulletin and rnimeographing it. The Lost and Found is a continual job for her, since students are constantly coming in to inquire about lost articles. She is always willing to help, though, and is a friend to all that need her. The problems of running a school are many, but such men and women as Mr. A. F, Olney, Dr. Charles Bur- ton, Dr. L. A. Eastburn, and Mrs. lean Hansen are carrying on Well, giving the students good guidance for the future. Mr. Olney, Curriculum Coordi- nator, has charge of the supervision of purchasing text books for the Phoenix High Schools, and promotes friendly relations between the schools through various intra-school activities. Dr. L. A. Eastburn, Director of Research and Guidance, advises and helps the students in collecting the curriculums that will give them the suitable knowledge and experi- ence for their vocations of the future. Mrs. Hansen is the home counselor, and has done much in addition to her regular duties in the school and community by assisting the freshman in learning about the school. C171 3-vw
