Under the chairmanship of Iris Chester, this year the service committee struggled with Wrapping clothing, making bed slip- pers for the Red Cross, delivering baskets to the needy, and helped pack boxes for the Russian War Relief. A S100 bond Was given to the Mustang Corral Drive as the Leagues dona- tion. Miss Howatt Was faculty adviser. When help shortage was so acute in the cafeteria at the be- ginning of the school year, the Girls' League officers filled in by serving at the lunch hour.
