When the team was not laid up by injuries, their performance was excel- lent. The defensive platoon looked very good in many of the games with vicious tackling and blocking. The of- fensive sguad showed spurts of near brilliance at times. The club ' s guarter- back, Bruce Lake, consistently played heads up ball as he threw four pay dirt passes and scored another on a sneak. His field-generalship and good sportsmanship won him the honor of being elected the team ' s most valuable player. Next year ' s captain will be Bill Matson, lineman.
