The Huskies started the season by beating Sheridan 5-6, The team was made up mostly of freshmen and sophomores except for a few juniors and seniors. Very few of the boys had had experience playing baseball. With Don Reed coaching the team, however, they hoped to have a very successful year. Bob Diller, Arnold Evans, and Larry Berkey pitched. Bill McLaren was behind the plate. Arnold Evans and Harley Dew will be the only players not returning next year.

Inexperience, but a barrelful of enthusiasm was the motto for this year's grappling squad. As in all North Marion teams, there was a definite lack of ex- perienced boys among the Huskies. Coach Beal used his patience and experience to develop a squad that should be a definite threat among Yawama League members next year. The Husky Thinolads weren't a large team but they had a lot of spirit and determination and showed promise of a good season. Since a large number of the boys on the squad were under- classmen, North Marion should see some very good track teams in the near future.
