Inexperlence played an important part in this year's record, and the lack of height gave the team considerable disadvantage, but we of North Marion feel the season was more than successful with a record of nine games won and twelve games lost. In the District ll tournament the Huskies scored an upset victory over Sacred Heart Academy of Salem and dropped games'uJSllverton and Staytmu Returning next year will be all but two mem- bers of this year's squad, Al Bekebrede, and Jerry Jeskey.

Other meets in which the Husky squad partici- pated were: Oct. 19 A five way meet between Jefferson, Salem, Molalla, Corvallis, and North Marion. Oct. 26 A dual meet between Molalla and Nbrth Marion. Nov. 1 A six way meet between Springfield, Molalla, Salem, Jefferson, Albany and North Marion. Nov. 7 A dual meet between Jefferson and North Marion. Nov. 9 A dual meet between Molalla and North Marion. Nov. 18 State Meet. Fou cross country letters were awarded. Boys receiving these awards were: Merlin Kliewer, Bill McNary, Galen Pearson, John Davies and Keith McNary.

B Squad L, to R. 1ST ROI: Davies, lanagerg Sanders, lcLaren,l.g Richterg Kliewer, Beal. END ROW: Coach Ellmers, Fyock, Rasmussen, Hooley, McLeod. The 'B' basketball squad, made up of freshmen and sophomores, started the season with a C51-151 win over Canby and ended the season with a C37-341 win over Col- ton. In between they ran into hard luck and tough com- petition and earned an 8-13 won and lost record. They were successful in serving their purpose, however,which is to develop freshmen and sophomore boys into top contenders for berths on the varsity squad. The pros- pects are good for several of this year's 'B' squad members taking their place on the varsity next year. The squad was unfortunate in losing the servkss of Bob Beal early in the season. In the sixth game of the season,aga1nst Willamina, he injured his knee and was out for the rest of the year.
