Rally Squad L. to R. lary Lou Harper, Marilyn Ellis, Hickey Peterson, Louise Priest, and Barbara Croco. The rally squad this year consisted of five junior girls. Barbara Croco and lary Lou Harper vlere the song queens. Hickey Peterson, Louise Priest, and larilyn Ellis are the yell leaders. Many clever pep assemblies were presented by the rally squad and the pep club. Half-time entertainment at the basketball games included the formation of an 'H' by the Pepettes and the rally squad leading the Husky locomotive. Pspettss, the newly formed pep club, ha been an active organization. llembers are selected from the junior and senior classes. Thi year there were twelve members. The rally squad, with the help of the Pepettes,led the North Marion student body to honors by winning the pep trophy at the basketball Jamboree in llcllinnville. The girls are proud of this honor and are looking for- ward to another successful year of pep and enthusiasm andd'to keeping the trophy for North Marion.

Husky Grow! Staff 1ST ROW: L. to R. Sam ons, Brower, A.g Triplett, F.g Miss McLaughlin, Muessig, Connor, Ezzell, Croco. 2ND ROW:Pardey, Priest, Wettstein, Copeland, Gianella, Sohaber. During the past year,the Journalism class has sponsored the Growl ',North Mar-ion's school paper. There are eighteen members in the group. Marlene Gianella, a senior,was elected by the group to act as editor. Alice Brower,a senior, was elected assistant editor. Several members of the class attended the OSP Conference in Eugene in October. Although North Marion now has only a dupli- cated paper, the classroom discussions cover the problems connected with publishing a printed pgnr. The class also learnedthe different types of head- lines,the most common forms of leads and different styles of make-up, Margie Ferrell kept a scrapbook of all North Marion events which were printed in the Salem, Woodburn, and Portland papers. Although all members of the Journalism class were inexperienced,they have shown much enthusiasm and originality in publishing the first paper for North Marion Union High School. Miss Dolores McLaughlin is advisor of the group.
