Since Iohn was voted the outstanding play- er in the Greater Little Rock area during his last year at Iunior High, and later became a valuable player on the team at Senior High, it was deemed only fitting that this award should go to the school's most outstanding athlete. So departed Little johnny Hilliard, - our beloved, Ere the glory of the sunrise, In the pui ple mists of morning To the regions of the home-wind, To the Islands of the Blessed, To the land of the Hereafter! Great men die and are forgotten, Wise men speak, their words of Wisdom Perish in the-ears that hear them, Do not reach the generations That, as yet unborn, are Waiting In the great, mysterious darkness Of the speechless days that shall be! So that those who follow after May remember how We struggled How We toiled and how We pondered Through these precious printed pages Symbol and interpretation With the words thus represented, And the Words thus represented Shall be healing with their memory Shall be balm to age and sorrow Shall be joy in our affliction. We have left our songs and pictures, Left our signals and our symbols Wonderful and mystic symbols And each figure has its meaning Each some magic thing suggesting. mf 5 Student Body Officers: President, Bobby Brown Vice-President, Don Ryan, Secretary, Dixie Sugg and Treasurer, foe Rodman. 'X C M, 1 I 1 ,.- 1 'ik CHIEF S Much the mighty Senior Chieftain Boasted of his ancient prowess, Of his perilous adventures, His indomitable courage, His invulnerable body- When asked, O Senior Chieftain ls there nothing that can harm you? Nothing that you are afraid of? Then the mighty Senior Chieftain Grand and gracious in his boasting, Answered, saying, There is nothing! mv um 'E 0 5 PAPOOSES Then the youngest of the Wildcats With his soft and shining tresses With his garment white and royal Stood and gazed at the mighty Chieftc And, as one in slumber walking Stopped and worshipped at his Altar BRAVES Swift of foot was our brave Iunior. He could disappear from teachers, And run forward with such fleetness, That the latter fell behind him. Strong of arm was our funior. He could climb a totem upwardp Climb them with such mighty swiftness, When upon his feet he called on That each stride a mile he measured.
