Spirit-Building Hard Work At N.K. NK J we wal V57 Looking toward next year's larger student body, the Varsity Rally Squad acquired another Cheerleader for the basketball season. They planned for an eventual eight-girl squad. A new club found its place at North in 1969-70. Boys and girls joined the Viks and took over the duties of the past Pep Clubs. By having fund-raising events, they tried to overcome debts incurred by the previous clubs. Musical Groups: Top Performers In School The music classes were North's most productive extra- curricular activity, The biggest thrill for majorettes fly Kris Ryan, Judi Valley, Lora Christiansen, Rhonda Olsen, Leanne Lindahl and drum majorette Molly Epperson was the parade in honor of Astronauts Gordon, Conrad and Bean. North's band, guided by drum major Jim Richards 123, led the parade through downtown Seattle. Concerts, parades, contests, candy sale - all kept mu- sicians hustling all year. New activity for the Music De- partment was a 20-girl Drill Team which started practice in February, At the same time the classes were rehearsing for the musical Maine, they were also preparing for two band groups and larger classes when North becomes a four year high school in September, Band members in Q33--FRONT ROW: Konni Hoover, 1 b, X.
