Ten couples, honored by the Class of '70 to be on the court, participated in the coronation assem- bly October 30, the day before Homecoming. The stage band played, and lights dimmed as seven formally attired couples entered the gym and took their places marked by spangled name cut-outs on the screens of the spe- cially designed dais. The three finalists, clad in white tunic evening suits, entered last with their escorts, The awaited moment arrived when Master of Ceremonies Bob Gerry announced Cheryl Buchmann and John Rebar as Queen and King, Mr. Riehl crowned Cheryl, and '68 Homecoming Queen Sue Kennedy presented John with his crown, The coronation colors, or- ange and black, helped carry out the theme of Punkins and Pigskins.
