EUROPEAN SCHOLARS David and Goliath Pay attention, Jen! I love this class Ha — choo This year, the Advanced Placement European History class taught by Ms. Daniels, enrolled twenty scholarly students. The study program involved a history of European thought, literature, arts, and politics and covered the time periods from the Renaissance to present day. The students were evaluated through tests which follow the same format as the AP Exam given in May. The AP Exam in European History consisted of multiple choice questions, an hour long essay, and a critique of documents to interpret, in which the students much achieve a grade of three or better in order to receive college credit. AN ARTISTIC FLAIR Meg loves her work. The Advanced Placement Art program led by Mrs. Foley, covered a wide range of artistic skills and styles this year. The fourteen enrolled students studied aerial perspective, cubism, and improvisation. Assignments were designed to challenge the imagination and still provide opportunity to learn compositional rules. Students were evaluated through class critiques and were encouraged to grade their own work. Besides earning college credit, the students also gained a deeper knowledge of the subject which often led to a career choice as well as a chance to participate in the Rhode Island and National Scholastic Art Awards Competition.
