0 ASS, To dig for treasures shows not only impatience and greed, but lack of faith. Patience, patience, patience is what the sea teaches. Patience and faith. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach, waiting for a gift from the sea. — Anne Morrow Lindbergh -(JOSS’ (SkB- io V- S O klihlLL This year saw the retirement of one of North Kingstown High School's most outstanding teach- ers. Mr. John Hellewell embodies all the qualities of a devoted educator and a genuine friend. For twenty-four years he dedicated time and service expanding our Science Department in every way possible. New and better teaching methods were introduced and science became an important part of the curriculum. Although his warm smile and lively wit are no longer present at North Kingstown High School, his accomplishments will remain forever as a firm basis for future endeavor. With these thoughts in mind, the staff of the 1966 Skipper's Log dedicates this yearbook to MR. JOHN J. It is fitting at this time of your graduation to point out to you how important your four years of education have been. In today’s world of automation, technical advances and their involved skills, the ac- quisition of specialized knowledge is be- coming increasingly more important. The high school diploma is one of today’s most important possessions. In view of this fact, I, at this time, wish both to congratulate you and to express the wish that your four years at North Kings- town High School have been as profitable as they could be. HIRAM A. DAVIS Superintendent 0 It gives me great pleasure to congratu- late you upon your graduation. Time has been fleet and soon another milepost in your lives will pass. It is fitting that you now consider how you have run the course and towards which goal you shall turn. BURTON FROBERG Assistant Superintendent As you leave this milepost to other schools of learning, various vocations and places of occupations, may you ever recall that you have made many friends during your high school years, not only with your classmates, but with faculty and the institution itself. Your thoughts and actions after you leave North Kingstown High School should be that of a friend to your Alma Mater from which we have received much and to which we should prove ourselves ready to give, thus evidencing a very excellent indication of true friendship. My very best wishes for a successful, prosperous and happy future. 8 EDWARD S. PRATT Principal What an excellent opportunity to congratulate seniors upon their achievements and to wish for each of them success and happiness in their several choices of endeavor! We—your principal and your teach- ers—sincerely hope that your years with us have been profitable to you and that the educational background received here has been of such a nature that you are ready to meet the challenges of the future. I am happy to take this opportunity to join with your parents, teachers, and friends in sharing the com- mon wish for success and happiness as well as a life full of usefulness and satisfaction for each of you. Good luck to you, one and all, Class of 1966! LEROY E. ALGREN Assistant Principal 9 DOROTHY SANDEMAN 10 4-2- i . .. H41L , T-o Vom OH D crf0 p a ....T ene': AfAiO  UHY YOU.
