The 1983 PURGOLD staff, on behalf of the entire school, dedicates this year's Purgold to Mr. Don Cobb, mathematics teacher and resigning head football coach. Mr. Cobb has coached for 22 years, ln his nine years as head football coach at North Kansas City, he has won 40 games, lost 47, and has had three ties. In his entire coaching career, spent at Marshall High School, Kansas City Southwest High School, Kansas City Northeast High School, and North Kansas City High School, Mr. Cobb has achieved a 100-77-6 record. ln 1982, Coach Cobb led the Hornets to a Conference Championship, and to complete the season, he was selected the Suburban Blue Division Coach of the Year. Mr. Cobb and his wife, Barbara, have two sons, David and Don, both N.K.C. graduates. Mr. Cobb plans to continue teaching at North Kansas City. We thank Coach Cobb for his contributions to both the athletic and scholastic fields at Northtown, and we are happy to dedicate this 1982-83 PURGOLD to him. l
