LEIJUGJI UU EIHIEQIE EIEEU Students enrolled in science courses at North Kansas City performed various activities ranging from dissecting frogs and worms to studying chemical structures. Those who participat- ed in any biology class learned things relative to the anatomy of animals. Chemistry pupils dis- covered the whys and hows of many phenomena such as the process relating to how a light bulb produces light. The classes also performed experiments dealing with many chemical formulas. Physics classes studied energy and matter and their relation to each other. 1. Wayne Beer: Advanced Metal, Small Engine Repair, General Metal. I 2. Tom Bradley: Mechanical Drafting, Advanced Mechanical Drafting, Archi- tectural Drafting. 3. David Cochran: Crafts. H 4. Steve May: Applied Electronics, Electronics, General Wood. 5. Glenn McDole: General Wood, Advanced Wood. The pounding of nails and the buzzing of drills were just two of the sounds familiar to the Industrial Arts Building. Industrial Arts classes gave students a chance to work with their hands. In the Crafts class, students made their own projects ranging from leathercraft to ceramics. Woodwork and metalwork classes were offered as well. Those Hornets interested in electricity studied house and automotive wiring, small ap- pliances, tubes, and transistors. Architecural Drafting students studied the planning, design, and construction of a single family residence while Mechanical Drafting students studied the basic skills needed to become a draftsman or an engineering aid. The Power Mechanics course taught students the basic repair of small gasoline powered engines. 24
