The librarians' job involved much tedious work. They kept, sorted, and filed records on each book. But the librarians received a special satisfaction in knowing that they kept the Hornets reading. The Audio-Visual Depart- ment of the school checked out tapes, records and filmstrips to aid students with their classroom studies. These items made learning more entertaining and enjoyable. North Kansas City received special services from many people. The school nurse took care of those students who became ill and kept a health card on each student. The parking lot attendant supervised the parking lots and also controlled the traffic light after each hour so that students could walk to and from Dagg safely. The custodians' jobs ranged from fixing lockers to keeping North Kansas City sparkling clean. The cooks satisfied the Hornets' hunger by serving both breakfast and lunch. New features added to lunch were a salad bar and a serve-your-own-por- tions hot lunch. The In-school Adjustment Pro- gram, which was better known as INSAP, provided an alternative to suspension. Students were allowed to stay in school, under close supervi- sion in the INSAP room. 1.
