The I 979 PURGOLD would like to honor three ladies who ha ve dedicated a tremendous amount of time and effort to North Kansas City High School. Their great concern for the betterment of each student and the high school as a whole speaks for itself Miss Mildred Fulton, Miss Charlotte McClintock and Mrs. Juanita Ness are certainly special HORNETS to all of us. This year's staff would like to commemorate their last year at Northtown through this dedica- North Kansas City High School's specialist in the area of language and literature has been Miss Charlotte McClintock. For thirty-four years she has been educating her HORNE TS in sub- jects such as Basic English, Advanced Composition, Shakespeare, Modern Novel, and English Masterpieces Of these, she pointed out Shakespeare's MACBE TH and Chaucer's CANTERBURY TALES as her favorites because her students have enjoyed them the most. Prior to coming to Northtown, she taught at a small school in Bosworth, Missouri, and at an elementary school in Glasgow, Missouri, for seven years combined. Then, after receiving her Masters in Education, Miss McClintock came to Northtown. Besides sharing her knowl- edge in the class room, she has sponsored Pep Club, Y- Teens, FTA, and the Senior Class. Being associated with young people and working with them on a one-to-one basis has been a most worthwhile experience for Miss McClin- tock. Miss Mildred Fulton, a graduate of the class of '37 of North Kansas City High School, has been serving as a teacher for thirty-seven years. The first two years of her career saw her teaching in Ma ysville, Missouri. She then came to Northtown where she has remained ever since. In Miss Fulton 's early years at the high school she taught History, English, Speech, and advised the BUZZ and YEARBOOK staffs. She has also spon- sored such clubs as Masque and Gavel, Quill and Scroll, and Pep Club, as well as assisting and directing plays and musicals. In recent years she has conducted speech classes, sponsored Thespians, assisted with NFL, and continued to direct all the dramatical and musical productions. Miss Fulton 's special talents in the Held of drama will be missed by many. However, her reflection will be seen on the theatrical stage of Northtown for many years to come.
