arching Musicians Excel 'f A Patrick White Band members were all smiles when they got the chance to sit down. Being a member of NKC's Marching Band meant taking part in pep as- semblies, parades, pre-game performances, and half-time showsi The entire band totaled 170 members. The addition of four herald trumpets to its ranks during the 1970 football season aided the quality of band presentations. The Hornet' field was the site of a rock show and a patriotic half-time show this year. Besides performances at Northtown, the band received honors for performances elsewhere. They won every trophy in their class in the Salute To The American Royal Parade at Antioch Center. Participation in the Veteran of Foreign Wars Loyalty Day Parade helped win the band the George Washington Honor Certificate from the Freedoms Foundation. The Band was also asked to play at the Missouri Valley College Homecoming game, and the Mineral Water Bowl game.
