MATHEMATICS With a twist of the compass and a push of the slide rule, students began their study of the complex field of mathematics. Slowly the mysteries of parab- olas, logarithms, similar triangles, and quadratics unfolded as the year progressed. The algebra, geome- try, and trigonometry classes offered students experi- ence in problem-solving and a basic understanding of structure, properties, rules, and techniques. The com- bination of these gave students a well-rounded prepa- ration for additional work in mathematics. Terminal math taught the necessary applications of math needed daily.
