ART To teach the fundamentals of artistic creation and broaden the students' knowledge of art is the purpose of Northtown's art de- partment. Art-crafts students carve, build, and create with varied materials. Art stu- dents, in four years of sketching and painting classes. learn the fine techniques of water colors. oil paints, and other medias. Each year the art department sponsors entrants in lhe national Scholastic Art Contest and re- n fgw Q-sq 1-eixcs several gold keys and citations of merit for inflixiclual work.
