As freshmen, Nancy Anderson, Ioyce Blackburn, Io Ann Croley, Iudy Counts, Donna Cundifi, Ioan Dunbar, Pat Rains, and Sondra Wurzer were elected to Pep Squad. Sondra Wurzer and Wayne Black represented the class in Student Council. Kenny Ienkins was elected to the soph- omore presidency with Larry Cobb to the vice-presidency and Marilyn Armstrong to the secretarial position. Nancy Anderson, Iudy Counts, Kenny Ienlcins and Don Ray voiced their classmates' opinions in Student Council that year. Nancy Elliott. Iudy Garzee, Carolyn Hall, Mary Ann Malone. This was another of the many changes that came during the year. The five lucky ones were Nancy Anderson, Kenny Jenkins, Bill Mark, Robin Reeves, and Iohn Rouse. Following a lively campaign the Buzz an- nounced that Kenny Ienkins had won the presidency with Robin Reeves falling heir to the vice-presidency. The Buzz also ran the scoop announcing Sondra Wurzer as head cheerleader with Ioan Dunbar, Carolyn Hall, and Ann Roberson as her cheering assistants. As seniors the Class of '55 elected Nancy Anderson president, the first feminine president in 25 years. Bob Hauetter, as vice-president: Iudy Garzee, as secretary: Iean Wingo, as treasurer: and lim Trout, as sergeant-at- arms: were also elected. Another major change came about when the Homecoming Queen and her four attendants were eliminated from run- ning as yearbook queen candidates. This disqualified Sondra Wurzer, who reigned as the 1954 Homecoming Queen, and her four attendants, Ioan Dunbar, Ioyce Black- burn, Ann Roberson, and Nancy Anderson, and allowed Iudy Garzee, Carolyn Hall, Nancy Elliott, Marilyn Arm- strong, and Pat Rains to sell yearbooks. Still another change came when the neck-and-neck contest closed giving the big silver crown to Iudy Garzee as Purgold Queen tor '55 and a smaller crown to Carolyn Hall as Purgold Princess. Seniors chosen for Student Council work were Cheryl Elbe, Io Ann Croley. Mary Ann Malone, and Don Reynolds. Deann Ferguson and Liz Rhode joined the ranks of the Pep Squad. All in all. a successful four years, full of changes and surprises. W X, Z f 7.
