West Mor 'an The boys basketball team of 1924 was decidedly the best team ever produced at the High School. Much credit is due to McCall CCaptainj around whom the team was built and who was the only letter man represented at the opening of the season. Several exciting games were played at lsome and a special trip was made to Richmond. In these games Williaiaasoia forward and McCall guard show ed real Jility. ' . 4 y 1 The North Kansas City High School Baseball team had a very successful 4 season in 1923, due to the able instruction of Coach Clark and the hard work 1 1 1 p ll of the boys. Much to the delight of the Student Body, our old rival, Country 1 , 1 Da , of Kansas Cit , was defeated in two ames, the first score being 7 to 3, and , Y Y g s 1 1 the last one 16 to 6. The pitching of McCall and the heavy stick work of the l . 1 local bo s were the features of both ames. The onl team who succeeded in l 1 Y g Y 1 sto Jin the bo s was the La Salle Academ 1, State Chain ions in 1922, who won ' y PI g Y Y P ' a well played game 7 to 3. 1 1 1 ,: ' Q1 , I Schroeder, better known as jack Keefe, played first base and was the most 1, 1 p consistent player on the infield. Baker at second and Settle at short stop were ll 1 1 5 1 most able guardians of the keystone position.. C. Williainsori played third base lL, X E and was the fastest player on the infield. Williamsoii, jenkins and Prather were the guardians of 1 pg. 1 the outer gardens and were the leading hitters of the team. QAII balls that went 1 5 1 through were donated to the boys of the Grade Schoolj Leonard and E.
