Burl McKenzie Last year North Hudsonjoined in the organization of the Northern State Con ference with competition in football, basketball, and track. The member schools are Delphi, Rensselaer, Morocco, Knox, and North Judson: In competition this year, Judson dropped three football games while winning one. We were defeated by Morocco, Delphi, and Knox. Our victory came over Rensselaer, a team that has been very tough on us in the past. Warkentien was named to a halfback spot on the All Conference team, while Dale and Dean Grube received honorable mention at tackle and end. In basketball, Judson did much better. Undefeated in the conference until the last week of play, we lost that game to Delphi. Since they were also unde- feated, they won the conference title. As yet the All Conference team has not been named but Judson should have some boys who will be honored. As this book goes to press, the basketball season is just finishing. It is tourney time and any defeat will now end the basketball season for the school. Our thoughts will next turn to track. The Northern State Conference recognizes track with the same number of points as a football or basketball game. With a strong showing in track, our school could still win the All Conference trophy that goes to the school winning the most points in all three sports. The Girls Athletic Association was organized in order to give the girls achance at athletics as well as the boys. For the past seven years in North Judson High School the G.A.A. has been under the able direction of Miss Irene Foster. She has installed in the members of this organi- zation, past and present, her own love of athletics. The girls have developed skills in such things as baseball, basket- bal1,volleyball,track, bowling, tumbling, and many others. We think an organization like this gives the girls a chance to "run off steam" which is good for any teenager who spends all day sitting in a classroom exer- cising only his mind. We hope that the future girls of North Judson High School find the same good clean fun and recreation of the Girls Athletic Association that the present ones have found.
